Not sure what it is about summer, but until it gets here, we yearn for it. Course it doesn’t take long after it arrives to feel the heat is intense, but that doesn’t stop us.
Each year, January barely arrives when we start anticipating summer. Most likely it’s a holdover from childhood, with Memorial Day marking the end of the school year and extra time to hang out with friends. For many folks, summer means a family trip or two, with the beach and boardwalks always being a favorite vacation spot.
Sheri: A visit to the beach that also includes the Mummers is a treat. Talk about “go with all your heart” --these folks put heart and soul into their performing! So much fun to watch! Bill introduced me to the Mummers in 2012 on a visit to Ocean City NJ Boardwalk where we took this image and danced with them as well.
Bill: I spent my younger years in Philadelphia, and trips to the beach were top of my list. During the day I learned to swim and body surf at Ocean City NJ. And in the evening, the family enjoyed the boardwalk and Mummers.
Perhaps summer is not your favorite season, but whatever that season is you enjoy traveling, “go with all your heart!”
