Blooming Inside and Out

We moved some roses from the garden to the window ledge inside our home… where, as it turns out, you could see roses blooming inside and outside. Same flowers, just blooming on both sides of the glass.
So where are we headed, you ask? To the realization that the roses didn’t stop being roses because their surroundings changed. Garden. Vase. Sunshine. Window table. Same bloom. Different setting.
We humans tend to believe we can only thrive under exactly the right conditions. The roses seem less convinced. They bloom where they are planted and when they are placed in a container. They bloom when admired from a distance and when gathered close enough to touch.
The vase didn’t make the roses any less than they were in the garden, and the garden didn’t make them more important than the ones on the table. It was just a different place to look at the same flowers. Inside, outside, on the table, or still growing in the yard, it’s all the same rose.
Some seasons we’re out in the middle of everything—busy, visible, pulled in a dozen directions. Other seasons are quieter, smaller, and closer to home. Neither one changes who we are, even if it feels different while we’re in it. Life just looks different from one season to the next.
Sheri: I love seeing the roses in the garden, but maybe I enjoy them more often when they are inside...I see tiny details that I miss when they are outside
Bill: Inside is good…I don’t have to weed the vase! 😊
So, here’s where we’re ending up, folks: keep blooming wherever life places you, and trust that who you are can remain steady even when your surroundings shift. It’s still you!
Same bloom. Different setting. Still growing. Still beautiful. Inside and out.
