“Spaghetti Junction” ahead of us was a maze of roads that all seemed to have a mind of their own. Some stretched straight ahead, disappearing into the distance. Others curved around a corner, leaving us wondering what was waiting just beyond the bend. And a few seemed to wander without much concern about where they were going.

“How much life looks like that”? Aren’t We all headed somewhere? Sometimes we know exactly where we’re going...we have a destination, a plan, maybe even a timetable. And other times just pour on marinara Sause.

Bill: I like knowing where I’m going.

Sheri: I am pretty sure anyone that knows you knows you like to have a plan. 😂

Bill: I do. There’s something satisfying about having a plan and knowing what’ s ahead.

Sheri: And how often does the day cooperate with that plan?

Bill: Not nearly as often as I’d like. But that’s why there’s a steering wheel, a brake and a horn.

Twists and turns may be some of life’s little jokes. We make plans, and then life makes a few of its own. An appointment changes. Someone calls. An unexpected opportunity shows up. We take a wrong turn—or what we think is a wrong turn—and end up somewhere we didn't expect.

But maybe that isn't a problem. Maybe some roads are less about getting somewhere and more about who we encounter along the way. It’s easy to miss part of the journey when we're too focused on the destination.

We don't always get to choose every road. We don't always know what's around the next curve. But we can enjoy the view. We can make room for an unexpected stop. And when somebody crosses our path, maybe we can connect.

So… going somewhere? We hope so.  And don’t forget the  new folks along the way. They may be every bit as important as where we're headed.
