Windows and Doors

Windows and doors shape our lives. Picture your mind as a house. If you’re open-minded, you’re the window, wide open, letting thoughts and ideas make themselves at home. You’re the type who’d sign up for skydiving while simultaneously registering for salsa classes, letting life’s possibilities breeze right in.
Sheri: Yep, I’m definitely the window. Whether it’s trying a new fitness routine, tackling a home project, or exploring the latest health trends, I love keeping things fresh. I stay happy that way—it keeps me on my toes!
Now, the focused mindset? You’re the sturdy door — a no-nonsense barrier to distractions, locking in on goals and keeping a steady course toward the target.
Bill: That’s me – I’m the door. Try kicking a field goal at the homecoming game to win for your team and please a stadium full of fanatical fans when time is running out. Or navigating rush hour traffic in a snowstorm when you’re “low on gas light” is on. I thrive when I’m dialed in and focused.
This image from Jekyll Island, Georgia, captures both a window and a door in the ruins of Horton House—perfect image to tell this story. Horton House is rumored to be haunted, so we stayed just long enough to snap this shot (and make sure no ghosts photobombed us).
In the grand scheme of life, both the window and door have their perks. Just remember, if you're open-minded, maybe close the window every now and then to stay grounded. And if you’re focused, don’t forget to open the door when opportunities come knocking!
Positively speaking, Sheri & Bill
