There’s something reassuring about a lighthouse. It doesn’t try to be everything to everyone. It simply stands tall, shines brightly, and does its job: to guide, to warn, and to stay focused. That’s the beauty of a clear point of view.

When we know where we stand, what we value, and where we’re heading, everything gets simpler. A clear point of view, like a lighthouse, helps cut through the fog of uncertainty. It doesn’t mean you have all the answers—it means you know what matters most, and you’re willing to keep your light on it, even when storms roll in.

Sheri: When we were walking along this point, the lighthouse instantly drew me in. It reminded me of those times in life where I've had to be the steady one—calm in chaos, focused in the fog. I may not shine quite as far as a lighthouse beam, but I try to keep my perspective bright and kind. (Plus, I didn’t have to climb 200 stairs to get there!)

Bill: I’ve always liked lighthouses—reliable, tall (like me!), and not afraid of a little weather (I am a bit weathered…) A clear point of view doesn’t make the seas less rough, but it does help you navigate. Whether you’re leading a project or just trying to pick a dinner spot with a group of indecisive friends, clarity can go a long way.

Having a clear point of view doesn’t mean being rigid and it doesn’t demand universal agreement—just integrity. It means being steady, saying yes to what’s right, no to what isn’t, and keep your bearings when the waves start talking back. A strong point of view allows you to stand tall when opinions swirl around you and still see the bigger picture.

So, next time you’re unsure of your direction, imagine the lighthouse—rooted, shining, and focused on what matters. Because when your light is steady, it helps others find their way too.

Positively speaking, Sheri & Bill
