Bill: Clever conversation keeps things interesting…and it keeps us on our toes! A clever turn of phrase may mean the difference between four- play and goodbye. Not just choice of word, but also editing, context, and timing can make strange or good bed fellows. Orchestrated properly, cleverness can produce satisfying conversational intercourse. Interested yet?  

Sheri: As a songwriter I know the importance of using just the right word. For example, the same word used in several different scenarios can evoke a variety of different responses from the listener, so I try to select my lyrics carefully

And speaking of clever words, did you know that 80% to 95% of our conversations are with ourselves? So hopefully we like ourselves enough to be clever in what we say to motivate ourselves in a positive manner. Pretty sure Simone Biles, Olympic Gold Medalist has a motivating chat with herself just before an event. “You can do this!”, she says, and it works.

Bill: How many words can a wordsmith smith, if a word- smith could smith words?   A clever wordsmith will mix things up like a masterful baseball pitcher throws a variety of pitches, fastball, curveball, slider, knuckleball, beanball or spitball 😊.    

Sheri: When meeting up with friends for a meal, a clever story can be very useful to “spice” up the meal and help everyone to “savor” the moment. Ah, (very clever, right Bill? 😊)
