“Hit the nail on the head.” We’ve all heard it, and we all know the feeling when it happens. That moment when something clicks, when the message lands just right…when the truth is so clear it almost echoes.
In life, many of us swing the hammer often. We try this idea, that approach, another conversation, another plan. Sometimes we miss. Sometimes we bend the nail - or our thumb. Those are the moments you really remember and are actually part of the process. They teach us how to aim better, swing smarter, and eventually trust our timing.
And then, every now and then we connect cleanly. Solidly. Right on target. That’s the moment worth noticing.
Because hitting the nail on the head doesn’t usually happen by accident.It comes from paying attention. It comes from learning what works and what doesn’t. It comes from listening, not just to others, but to ourselves.
Sheri: I’ve learned that sometimes I’m not actually missing the nail, I’m just aiming at the wrong one. 😊 And no amount of “trying harder” fixes that…argh.
Bill: I feel like I’ve hit the nail on the head many times. Unfortunately, sometimes that nail was attached to something that didn’t need fixing. Still counts, right?
Have you ever struggled to explain something—circling around the point—only to suddenly say one simple sentence that makes everything clear?
That’s it. That’s the nail. We’re finding that clarity doesn’t come from swinging harder. It comes from slowing down just enough to notice, adjust and try again.
Because when things finally line up - your thoughts, your words, your intention - you don’t have to force it. It just lands.
So, keep swinging… with intention. And keep listening for that clear “tap” of truth.
Because every now and then, you won’t just make contact…
