Hope rarely enters with fanfare. It often arrives quietly, like a small bird settling on a branch or windowsill - eye catching, and always welcome. That’s what Emily Dickinson understood so beautifully. Hope isn’t a thunderclap; it’s a whisper that stays, even when the storm rolls in.

Sheri: Watching a bird simply exist in the world - feathers ruffled by wind, eyes bright with instinct and purpose - reminds me that life continues in small, resilient ways. We don’t need perfect circumstances to hold onto hope. We just need to listen to its song.
Bill: Just think of those tiny birds that migrate thousands of miles. Not because the journey is easy, but because the instinct to move forward is stronger than the fear. That’s hope.
Sheri: A friend called me whom I hadn’t heard from in ages. It took us less than a minute to get each other laughing. I was reminded me that connections can arrive sometimes just when we need them most - a little feather of hope floating in at the perfect time to lighten the moment.
Bill: I noticed that same cardinal in our picture slide across our frozen birdbath like it was auditioning for “Holiday on Ice” commercial - zero concern about the cold, and full of fluff and confidence. Meanwhile, I’m bundled up, wondering if spring is a myth. But that bird? That bird had hope. Sometimes we overthink hope when it's already perched nearby.
Hope keeps showing up in the face of challenge, reminding us to keep going. And somehow, we do.
