Stepping Through The Rain....Sheri & Bill

The rain just shows up—steady, unapologetic, doing what rain always does - washes out spiders. Not dramatic enough to stop everything, but something you can’t ignore. Plans still stand and the path still matters. It’s just wet and  inconvenient.

And there we were anyway. Walking. Smiling. Umbrellas open, choosing to stay connected while the weather did its thing.

Sheri: It was certainly better when shared with friends! Rain has a way of tempting us into isolation, to pull inward and wait it out alone. We tell ourselves we’ll get together once things clear up.

Bill: Nope. you don’t need to. You don’t have to wait for better conditions. You don’t need to  walk alone or pretend the storm isn’t happening. Not all folks flinch at a little discomfort.

The umbrellas matter, of course. They’re practical. Necessary even.  But what really changes the moment is the laughter underneath them. The shared direction. The way a simple walk becomes lighter because someone else is beside you.

We don’t always get to choose the weather of our lives., but we do get to choose our posture. We get to decide whether rain means retreating, or movement. Whether it sends us scattering or drawing closer. Whether we do it alone or with a friend.

Maybe this week’s rain looks like uncertainty,. or unanswered questions that keep tapping at your shoulders. If so, consider this an invitation. Don’t wait for the sky to clear. Just bring an umbrella. Bring a friend. And keep moving.

Some of the best moments happen while we are still in the storm – together.

“The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

“Where there is ruin, there is hope for a treasure.”Rumi

“Sweet are the uses of adversity.” William Shakespeare, As You Like It

Music Corner....

These songs are companions for the rainy stretches—the weeks when the path stays visible, but the sky stays gray.

Let them remind you that movement still matters, and that shared steps make all the difference.

Hold My Hand Hootie & the Blowfish … Warm and hopeful, this track leans into the idea that togetherness doesn’t remove the storm, but it does make the walk feel possible. 🎶

Let It Rain – Eric Clapton … Unrushed and honest, this track accepts the storm without resistance. It’s a reminder that sometimes peace comes not from stopping the rain, but from letting it fall.

I Will Wait – Mumford & Sons … A modern anthem of commitment and persistence. It celebrates staying, walking, and believing—even when the journey takes longer than expected.
