In true Sheri & Bill fashion, “Favorite Memory” is a laid back, feel good, Folk Pop song, with just a twist of country, thanks to Marty Lifkin and his pedal steel guitar! This song which we released on our "Moments" album Fall 2022, reminds us of the incredible value that great memories have--you can always "use ‘em when you need ‘em”!
" Today I got a feelin' that I'd like to go to my favorite swimmin' hole....
Think I'll settle back, let my memories take a ride to that special place I know!"
Sheri: The spark and story for this song was shared with me on a boat ride in 2019 on a nearby lake, years after the fact. Three teenage friends spent many happy summer days together on the lake. I had passed by the exact spot that triggered this memory many times myself, but once I heard the story, I knew I had to go home and write this song. What is even more poignant about this memory is that “Frankie and Bo” two of the three friends (not their real names of course) both passed away at very young ages, make the memory even more priceless.
Bill: We have performed this song live many times and it’s always a crowd pleaser – seems we all can appreciate the value of a good memory!

Thanks to our all star recording cast who helped us successfully captured the essence of “Favorite Memory”, recording with Owner/Producer Rob Kuhlman at Root Cellar Music Studio:

FAVORITE MEMORY
August summer days, hangin’ with my friends,
At my favorite swimmin’ hole.
Morning sun filled the sky, dew was dripping off the grass,
No better place to go!
Nothing really special…just ordinary days,
But these memories always take a happy hold on me,
Put a smile on my face.
Everybody needs a favorite memory!
A special place they like to go!
Moments come alive, filled with friends and dreams,
Like my favorite swimmin’ hole!
I remember being there with Frankie and Bo,
Their story comes to mind.
Playing in the sun and jumping off the bridge,
A little history left behind.
Every time I pass that bridge, on the weathered side I see
The words “Frankie and Bo” they wrote that day
Smilin’ back at me!
Everybody needs a favorite memory!
A special place they like to go!
Moments come alive, filled with friends and dreams,
Like my favorite swimmin’ hole!
Today I got the feelin’ that I’d like to go
To my favorite swimmin’ hole.
Think I’ll settle back, let my memories take a ride
To that special place I know.
Everybody needs a favorite memory!
A special place they like to go!
Moments come alive, filled with friends and dreams,
Like my favorite swimmin’ hole!
Moments come alive, filled with friends and dreams,
Like my favorite swimming’ hole!
