"Favorite Memory" - original folk pop song by Sheri & Bill (Original photography by Sheri & Bill)

We think God gave us memories like He gave us all fireflies – tiny  flickers of light to brighten the darkness. They don’t last forever in front of our eyes, but they shine just enough to remind us of something special tucked  away inside. You know what we mean: that favorite memory of an ordinary moment that has somehow turned into a forever memory we treasure.

Sheri: A friend once told me about his favorite memory of hot August days, a weathered bridge, and a swimming hole where he and his buddies spent every ounce of daylight. “Frankie and Bo” (not their real names, of course!) even carved their names on the side of the bridge, so time itself wouldn’t forget they were there. Ironically Frankie and Bo both died before they were forty...thus the memory of this time together became even more poignant and treasured.

That story inspired me to to write “Favorite Memory.” The song captures the way simple things become special when we carry them in our memories. Click here to watch our song video of "Favorite Memory"

Verse 2

"I remember being there with Frankie and Bo, their story comes to mind.

Playin’ in the sun and jumpin’ off the bridge, a little history left behind.

Every time I pass that bridge, on the weathered side I see

The words “Frankie and Bo” they wrote that day, smilin’ back at me!"

Chorus

"Everybody needs a favorite memory, special place they like to go--

Moments come alive, filled with friends and dreams, like my favorite swimmin' hole"

Bill: Memories also remind us of not just of who we were, but of who we are today. They give us courage to keep trusting that there’s plenty of room to make more of them.

Today is calling you. Go make a memory. Don’t overthink it. Don’t wait for the perfect backdrop. Just grab someone you love, do something simple, and enjoy the moment.

That’s what life is made of - ordinary days that turn into forever memories. 😊
