“If You Can Walk, You Can Dance...”

From our Contributors Corner: “If you can walk, you can dance. God Bless us” 

This quote was contributed by our friends Dot and Paul Hutchison. Dot and Paul have been dancing through life together for a very long time – in fact they just hit their 67th wedding anniversary and dancing has been an important part of their life for many of these 67 years!

We took this image a few years ago at a gig we did. We asked them to perform to one of our original songs and they did a beautiful job! Walking and dancing both move to a purposeful rhythm. The tempo may come from an outside cadence or from our own internal drummer. Whether it be “Margaritaville”, “I Will Survive”, “Best of My Love” or “Celebration”, or just a thought we hold dear, the pulse and beat encourage us to move.

Bill: Sheri and I first met at a ballroom dance class years ago. Sheri was looking for a tall dance partner, and I qualified. Since then, we have made our own music (in more ways than one!) and our published original songs have been streamed and enjoyed by thousands.  You can find all our song videos on our Sheri & Bill YouTube channel SheriAndBill/YouTube  

Sheri: Bill has promised to dance again with me on Sept 1 at the Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band Concert at the Boot Barn...this will be a noteworthy accomplishment, with his recent hip and 2 knee replacements in the not so distant past. Excited! Guess he is taking Dot’s quote to heart:  “If you can walk, you can dance”.

“If you can walk, you can dance”, and we both highly recommend adding some dancing in your life!
